One of the earliest steps in the building process is selecting the lot for your new home. We start by finding out what type of home site you are considering. Do you want a large backyard? A walkout basement? Lots of trees? Room for a swimming pool?
We will walk lots with you and suggest the ideal placement of your home to maximize views and the natural features of the lot.
Ziegler Custom Homes has ideal home sites available in our featured neighborhoods across the northwestern Twin City suburbs, but also can build on your lot.
Choosing the design of your new home once again begins with the personal wants and needs of you and your family. We know that today's active families are looking for design styles and layouts that fit with busy lifestyles. From kitchens that double as food prep and homework areas to lower level family rooms for the entire family to enjoy.
Being a custom home builder, you may choose to have us create a one of a kind, truly custom home that includes any design and feature you desire.
Ziegler Custom Homes also offers a wide variety of lifestyle-friendly floor plans from which you may choose. All of these popular plans can be customized just for you.
Our two-story and rambler designs all feature spacious kitchens, inviting family rooms, inviting bedrooms and bathrooms, home offices and entertainment spaces.
With your lot chosen and home style selected, actual construction begins. Ziegler Custom Homes provides you with a general timetable so that you can follow the progress of your new home.
The process starts with excavation, foundation and framing. Then comes plumbing, heating, electrical and low-voltage rough-ins. Next comes Sheetrock, cabinetry, and interior trim. Painting and staining comes next, followed by installation of your flooring and counter-tops.
The last steps involved in the process include the final installations of your plumbing, heating, electrical and low-voltage systems.
While all of this work is being done inside your home, exterior items being completed include siding, brick/stone, well and septic.
At key points during construction, you will meet with Ziegler Custom Homes’ staff on-site for walk-thrus and approvals.
While watching your home be built is an exciting time, selecting the products and materials that will make up your new home is perhaps the most enjoyable step.
You will begin by meeting at our in-house selections center where we guide your through the process, starting with general material sections such as roofing, siding, windows, doors, cabinet types, and more. We then provide you with a listing of our preferred suppliers of floor coverings, plumbing fixtures, lighting and appliances.
You will visit showrooms and meet with consultants that will work with you in selecting everything you need for your new home.
With the construction of your new home complete, we will conduct a final walk-through to ensure that all of your expectations have been met, prior to closing.
This will allow you to ask questions and get an overview of primary mechanical features of your new home. As you settle into your new home, Ziegler Custom Homes, Inc., is there to address your questions and concerns you may have.
